Vegas local, Jack Mazzan, has voiced his disappointment with Arcadia Solar NV, a solar company that failed to attend a disciplinary proceeding by the Nevada State Contractors Board.

After the closure of their Nevada subsidiary last spring, Arcadia Solar NV left several customers with unfinished solar projects, drawing criticism for their lack of accountability.

Jack Mazzan and his wife, Catherine, now face a daunting $40,000, 25-year loan after installing solar panels on their property, expecting a reduction in power costs that did not happen.

In addition, Arcadia did not deliver on their promised $11,000 tax refund, increasing the financial burden on the Mazzans.

The couple shared their financial struggles and are considering selling their home as the expected economic benefits from the solar panels did not materialize.

An unnamed official from the Nevada State Contractors Board hinted that Arcadia’s business license might be revoked by year-end. The company could face additional penalties if more disciplinary actions are taken.

Jack and Catherine Mazzan are not alone.

Vegas solar firm triggers state intervention

Other customers, like John Hurwitz, have reported issues involving added expenses due to Arcadia Solar’s services. Hurwitz encountered a surprising $25,000 expense due to damages to his roof caused by the solar panel installation.

To address these issues, the State Contractors Board in Nevada created a specialist team dedicated to resolving disputes and concerns related to solar panel companies. They urge any dissatisfied customers to voice their grievances through the board’s official online portal.

This action aims to pave the way for better service standards in the industry and improve the overall customer experience.
