Cahners Business Information, New York, last week acquired A.F. Lewis & Co., New York, a directory and database provider to the graphics communications market. The acquisition is expected to enhance the products of Cahners' Graphic Arts Monthly magazine and will act as a market access tool for its printing, publishing and converting group. A.F. Lewis also publishes the “Graphic Arts Blue Book,” a directory of commercial printers, prepress and digital service providers, finishers, binders, paper mills, merchants, manufacturers and suppliers to the print industry. The A.F. Lewis database contains additional industry information including managers' names and titles. Cahners, a member of the Reed-Elsevier PLC group, publishes 129 business magazines and provides online services, custom publishing, directories, research and mailing lists.
