Budweiser Beer and Tunes.com said yesterday they will introduce a free downloadable Internet radio player that consumers can get at www.budweiser.com. The player stays on users’ screen as they surf the Net and provides them with five genres of music to choose from. The player is branded with the Budweiser logo and contains links to Budweiser.com and the Bud store but only runs if the Windows Media Player has been downloaded. The company hopes this new marketing strategy will increase hits to the site by exploiting the entertainment aspect of the beer.
