Alcon Laboratories, Fort Worth, TX, an eye-care products manufacturer, awarded the New York office of FCB Worldwide, part of True North Communications, its $17 million direct mail and general advertising business for its 2-year-old Patanol, a prescription allergy eye drop. FCB will handle all direct-to-consumer advertising, including direct mail. FCB New York was selected by the $2 billion division of Nestle S.A. without a formal review. Other FCB healthcare clients include Merck, Glaxo Wellcome and Knoll.
