Five homebuilding companies said yesterday they will create a company to sell new homes on the Internet. Centex, D.R. Horton, Kaufman & Broad Home, Lenner and Pulte said they will each advertise more than 200,000 homes on the new site. The new, unnamed company will operate as an independent entity, and other homebuilding companies are expected to add their listings to the site. The site will differentiate itself from competing sites through immediate access to content, customers and brand-name support, according to the founding companies. The site also will offer advice and upkeep services to buyers.
