Only half of the 33.1 million Web users who research, browse or comparison shop for products have actually made an online purchase within the last year, said e-commerce and Internet analyst, eMarketer (www.emarketer), New York, in its January 1999 eMarketer eCommerce: Retail Shopping Report.
The report also lists the top five factors that motivate consumers to make a buy decision online: conveniences such as necessity of product, accessibility of sales and policy information; security of credit card transactions; customer service; variety of products offered and competitive pricing.
